My name is Alexis and I run the Peoples Press Calendar Project alongside working as the Head of Careers at a comprehensive school in London.

I originally created a poster sized wall-planner style calendar for my son to help him learn the months of the year.

The next year I printed one for my office too, shading all the school holidays. My boss also put one up in her office. Then I made a version that the PTA could sell to benefit the school. I added in dates like sports day and parents’ evenings too.

Families loved the calendars as they could see all the key school events. Children loved them as they could see all their holidays!

With such a positive reaction I realised I should make calendars for other PTAs and they too could sell them to make money for their schools. And so the Calendar Project was born.

Having been involved with school PTAs over the last 10+ years I know that an admin-light fundraiser is gold-dust, so I’ve really enjoyed the challenge of trying to create the simplest fundraiser ever. I believe that it will be some of the easiest money you will ever make for your school. No sending artwork or scanning or asking for additional volunteers or baking cakes or washing second hand uniform or setting up stalls. Just raising money while providing something that is genuinely useful for children and their families.
